2018 Asian games 11th day 29th August

Hello and welcome to 11th day Asian games bulletin.

ATHLETICS: Khushbir Kaur missed out on a medal as she finished fourth in women’s 20km walk.

ATHLETICS: With just the 800m event to go, Swapna Barman is in gold medal position in women’s heptathlon. She recorded a personal best of 50.63m in javelin throw. Purnima Hembram is not too far behind a bronze medal spot.

She’s only 18 points behind the third-placed athlete.

PENCAK SILAT: India finished seventh in women’s doubles.

CYCLING: Esow Alben qualifies for the 1/8 finals in men’s sprint.

BOXING: Amit Panghal defeats North Korea’s Kim Jang Ryong 5-0 in the men’s flyweight (49kg) quarterfinal and assures India’s first medal in boxing this year.

BOXING: Vikas Krishan (75kg) wins the quarterfinal by a split decision (3-2) against China’s Touheta Tanglatihan and assures another medal for India in boxing.

SQUASH: Indian women’s team wins 3-0 against China in a Pool B match and advances to the semifinals, assuring a medal for India.

TABLE TENNIS: Bronze for India in the mixed doubles category as A. Sharath Kamal and Manika Batra lose the semifinal to China.

ATHLETICS: Dutee Chand wins silver in 200m final.

ATHLETICS: Arpinder Singh wins gold in triple jump.

Total medals till date: Gold – 10, Silver – 20, and Bronze – 23.
